As Session Chair, your role is to ensure that the presentations run according to schedule and to lead the discussion at the end of the session.
- Please familiarise yourself with the topics and presentation titles in your session in advance by consulting the Conference Program.
- Please be present in the session room at least 15 minutes before the session begins.
- Start the session by briefly introducing yourself, announcing the session title, and inviting the audience to take their seats.
- Introduce each speaker and their presentation title exactly as indicated in the Program.
- Unless there are last-minute changes, please adhere closely to the published timetable, including the speaking order and the allocated start and finish times, to ensure equal time for all speakers.
- Please note that the Q&A and discussion segment is scheduled for the end of the session. We recommend preparing 3 to 4 questions for each speaker in advance, which you can use to help initiate the discussion if needed while waiting for questions from the audience.
- At the conclusion of the session, thank the speakers and the audience for their active participation.
Handling unexpected situations
Please remain flexible if adjustments are required. Should the session end earlier than expected, you may:
- Prepare and pose additional questions to the speakers.
- Invite further questions from the audience.
If a speaker is absent, please continue with the next presentation on the agenda.
Thank you for your important contribution to the overall success of the Conference!
